Mangal Dosha (being “Manglik”) is present when Mars sits in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house — counted from the Lagna, the Moon and Venus. Enter your birth details to check your status (Kāla-Sarpa is checked too).
What it is
Mars (Maṅgala) in these houses is said to stress marriage, temperament and harmony. Tradition weighs it from three references — Lagna, Moon and Venus — so a chart can be Manglik from one reference but not another; strength matters more than a simple yes/no.
Cancellations (bhaṅga)
Many classical cancellations soften or nullify the dosha: Mars in its own or exalted sign, Mars aspected by benefics, both partners being Manglik, Mars in specific signs for a given house, or age. A blanket “Manglik = incompatible” reading is not śāstric — the cancellations are part of the rule.
Remedies
Where the dosha is strong, traditional measures include Maṅgala worship (Tuesdays, Hanumān / Kārtikeya), the Maṅgala mantra, and — with a qualified astrologer — matching with a chart that balances it. Treat this checker as a first indication, not a verdict.
